When my girls were preschoolers, we had a zoo membership. We visited the gibbons and the elephants weekly. Come often, leave early was my motto. The kids loved to take a lunch and hang out.
Small children sometimes get stuck. They hyper-focus on an obscure object or activity. For Cherry and Coco, it was all about the frog house. Poison dart frogs fascinated them. The tiny azure, scarlet, and chartreuse amphibians looked just like the plastic toys that came in birthday party goody bags.
How could something so cute be so deadly?
