- This water lilly is blooming in my bathtub fish pond. The goldfish like to hang out just under the lilly’s petals.
- I spent most of the day at a doctor’s appointment, so it wasn’t much of a writing day. I edited a few pages in the waiting room, but I didn’t make any real progress.
- I planned to take this day off from writing, so I’m not behind.
Nice, I have one similar colour. It is cold hardy variety ‘Firecrest’. It is the first winter outdoor to go through Canadian harsh winter– I hope it can make it!

This lily is a winter-hardy “Colorado.” Our winters aren’t much–as opposed to yours. Hope your flower blooms next spring.

I really like ‘Firecrest’ with strong fragrance and soft pink colour which last quite many days!
I am also growing single and double lotus from seeds now… in an aquarium with heater indoor. It usually takes 3 months from seed to flower. Whole plant is also edible. 🙂

Most importantly it is fun to do this in winter — the only gardening could happen in winter. This morning it was -26C with wind chill it was -35C… brrr…

Well… it is still cold for the most of people here…but we all learn to dress properly to keep warm. 🙂
