Come Up To See My Etchings

I knew a guy in college, who was disabled–completely paralyzed from neck to toes. He did these incredible ink drawings holding a pen between his teeth. Stick figures would have been amazing, but his work was detailed. Complete. Would he have been better with the use of his arms?

Sometimes, I feel like I’m writing with my teeth. More than once, I’ve dropped the pen and had to find a way to pick it up. Would I be better if I wrote faster?

The work is shaped by the artist’s limitations.
