I finished day two’s and the left-over day one’s word count at midnight. Officially, I’m into day three. That sets my clock–behind again. Never mind that I caught up. Never mind that I finished the first chapter of the book. Never mind that I wrote the last thousand words completely by the seat of my pants. No scene cards. Nary a look at my throughlines. I wrote. The pages bled black Waterman ink. And still, the Nano Stat Meter is a tyrant. Never satisfied. Never sated.
I’m going to bed.
